Greater Manchester education provider GC Education and Skills has launched several courses specifically focused on emerging green technologies.
Part of The Growth Company, it has specifically developed the range of courses for school leavers and adult learners.
The social enterprise is also set to launch its own Green Skills Academy.
The courses to be introduced will cover ground and air source heat pumps, solar photovoltaic, wind turbine technology, 18th edition inspection and testing, electric vehicle charging point installation and an AM2 test centre.
The Green Skills Academy, which will be based in Trafford Park, is set to open its doors this summer and welcome learners that are keen to upskill in emerging green technologies. It will be the first of its kind in the North West, a dedicated academy for green skills all in one campus.
The centre is aiming to be a “one-stop shop” and will welcome apprentices and future generations who have a passion to kick-start their career in emerging green industries.
Jon-Paul Rimington, managing director of GC Education & Skills, said: “Green Technology courses will help ensure that Greater Manchester and its businesses are equipped with the necessary skills to help take on the Net Zero challenge. The Green Skills Academy will connect people with ambition to businesses with vision.
“We've deliberately designed our courses to be taken by adult learners as well as those entering the workplace. For school leavers, there will be plenty of opportunities around GCSE Results Day to come down to our GC SkillCentre in Trafford Park and see what we're all about.”
