BenQ EX240N: Gaming monitor with MOBIUZ VA panel and 165 Hz refresh rate presented – Notebookcheck.net

BenQ has introduced the EX240N, another gaming monitor by the company with a MOBIUZ VA panel. According to BenQ, the EX240N has a 23.8-inch panel that offers up to 250 nits of peak brightness, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio and 72% NTSC colour space coverage. Arguably more important for gamers, the EX240N also operates at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels with a 165 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response times (MPRT), or 4 ms response times (GtG).
According to BenQ, the EX240N consumes up to 40 W, in part because of the monitor’s dual 2.5 W speakers. Alternatively, BenQ has included a 3.5 mm headphone jack for connecting the EX240N to external audio equipment. Also, the monitor features single DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 connections. In other words, the EX240N is suitable for gaming at high refresh rates on current generation games consoles, including the Xbox Series S. However, the EX240N can only reach 165 Hz when connecting to a PC via its DisplayPort input.
Moreover, BenQ has included an FPS mode, AMD FreeSync Premium support and Motion Blur Reduction technology. So far, BenQ has confirmed that the EX240N retails for US$199.99, although the monitor is not available to order just yet. Additionally, there is the EX240, an otherwise identical monitor that features a 100 mm height adjustable and stand, which the EX240N lacks. At launch, the EX240 will cost US$239.99, for which BenQ includes a second HDMI port and a stand that can swivel too.
